On the fith of may we presented our project at the MusikTriennale Cologne. We were supported by Pixelpark who borrowed us the surface table. The visitors could interact with a special program which was written for our presentation. The different soundfiles were shown on a world map. Later we visited the concert Hymnen by Karlheinz Stockhausen.

2 soundscapes from prague
Sound of the peacock wings, scratching on the ground at upper terrace of Vojanovy sady. In the back of the garden there is a fountain, desolated stage and a few peacocks nesting in the vines.

Soundcollage + Video “Klang und Wirklichkeit”
Raphael Schlag, April 30th 2010 |london sounding: hydepark and oxford circus
from the project description (urban sound stories vol. 1):
8 locations in London, 4 urban spaces, 4 unspoilt nature…
unspoilt nature? A difficult task in a country’s capital city.
Nevertheless, on a journey on the Central Line of the London Underground, from West to East, we discovered two areas you would say are unspoilt – to the west, Ruislip Woods, to the East, Epping Forest and a lake called Connaught Water.
Two more areas within central London were identified. Hyde park is unspoilt in many ways, although being in the very heart of London, and Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park has to be seen to be believed. An open grassland leads to a small wooded area, where gravestones line the paths, overseeing your visit.
In contrast, areas such as Notting Hill Gate and St. Pauls are filled with urban drone and the bustle of pedestrians, although quieter than you’d imagine. Oxford Circus and Liverpool Street station however are exactly what you would expect – busy, noisy, smelly, managing to be both colourful and grey simultaneously.
The photographic data for the project photography were collected by Bev Dale.

two from taiwan: sounds of veggie truck and post office
Sounds around the vegetable truck
In our comfortable modern life, we can still find some special kind of life ways derived from the old tradition. The Vegetable trucks survive in the huge network of supermarkets and help the people living in an isolated location. Here you can have talk with the tradesman ,  the neighbour get together for conversation, the housewife get the fresh vegetable and meat for the family….. The Veg-Truck becomes a meeting point of daily life for those people!

Berber women association of Argan oil
This is a recording of a Berber association of argan oil, Â 12 women breaking the argan fruit between two rocks. The argan oil is a very important cultural product of Morocco. I think it is very interesting in regards of the spatialization and the rich sound.
I dont have a longer recording….. I could not do it because in the recording place did not allow mics

Hans W. Koch, April 29th 2010 |sunporch in albany park, chicago
This is a recording of Albany Park in Chicago, about seven miles from downtown Chicago. I made it as part of a series of recordings that were meant to document my last few weeks in Chicago before moving to Ann Arbor, Michigan. I lived in Chicago for eight years. I often sat on this sunporch and listened to the amazing soundscape, which included a street level elevated train stop, an airport flight path, and endless street merchants peddling snacks in the summer.
